We are accepting applications through the EntryThingy application system. EntryThingy is web based submission management system that streamlines and eases out the collection, tracking and management of electronic submissions. Applications will not be accepted by any other delivery method.

Once you have registered at EntryThingy.com you can work on an application in multiple sessions, saving as you go, until it is completed and ready to submit.

You can apply at any time up until the deadline. Please make sure to plan ahead so you don’t miss our deadline.

Applications that are incomplete, or not received by the deadline, will be excluded from consideration. We recommended applying well in advance in order to avoid technical problems.


A portrait is painting, drawing, photograph, or an artist representation of a person with a particular focus on the face. Most often a portrait unlike a snapshot is a composed image of a person in a still position. A portrait usually shows an individual gazing directly at the painter or photographer, in order to most effectively engage the subject with the viewer.

For this call to art Mona Niko Gallery is looking for paintings, drawings or photographs that capture personality, character, expression, spirit or mood. What story will you convey with your portrait? How will you engage the viewer with your subject? What colors, composition or lighting will you use to communicate a story? Will your portrait speak and engage the viewer? Will your viewer be drawn into your work?

Your portraits can use traditional or non-traditional styles and mediums but the main focus should be on the face. Your portrait can be a friend, family, a stranger or yourself. Your portraits can be close up or it can include the entire body and the background or context.

All styles of portraiture, including abstraction, conceptual realism, modern, representational, traditional, non-representational, and, will be considered. Artists are encouraged to showcase their unique style and personality.

This call for art is open to all local, national and international artists, professional and amateur and multiple art mediums will be considered in this call for art. Acrylic, Airbrush, Charcoal, Color Pencil, Computer Art, Digital Art, Digital Photography, Drawings, Encaustic, Fiber Arts, Graphite, Illustration, Mixed Media, Oil, Pastel, Pen and Ink, Photo Assemblage, Printmaking, Traditional Photography, Watercolor.

The work must be able to be hung on a wall to be considered. No work that requires special installation or instructions will be accepted.
